Four checks. Then you're filming.
The addon ships with a Preflight Checklist that verifies everything for you — IP, camera, port, frame rate. Setup mirrors it exactly:
Install the addon
Grab the free addon from GitHub Releases and install the zip in Blender. It auto-detects your IP, active camera, and confirms port 9090 is free.
Connect your iPhone
Open BlendMotion on the same Wi-Fi network, enter the IP shown in the checklist, and tap Connect. Tracking starts streaming instantly.
Move & record
Hold the phone like a camera — landscape or portrait — and move. Blender's camera follows in real time. Tap Record to capture keyframes at 24, 25, 30 or 60 fps.
Polish & render
Your take lands on the timeline. Smooth Keyframes and Bake to World clean it up — then render.
A real virtual camera, not a gimmick
Full 6DoF motion
Position and rotation from ARKit, or Rotation Only for tripod-style shots. Artificial horizon keeps you level.
5 cinematic presets
Handheld, Dolly, Crane, Cinematic, Raw — plus live Sensitivity, Smoothing and Position Scale sliders to dial in your own.
Live zoom & lens keyframes
iPhone-Camera-style 0.5× / 1× / 2× / 5× pills with spring animation. Focal-length changes are keyframed while you record.
Straight to the timeline
Record at 24, 25, 30 or 60 fps. Retake wipes the last take clean — position, rotation and lens keyframes included.
Smooth & bake tools
Smooth Keyframes softens hand jitter after the fact; Bake to World frees your take from parent constraints.
Local-only by design
Everything runs as UDP packets on your own Wi-Fi. No cloud, no accounts, no analytics — nothing ever leaves your network.
